Why Book SUP Away?
Having your paddle boards delivered to you, or hiring for the duration of your holiday, is not such an unusual thing to do - it is much the same as hiring your skis when you go on a ski holiday. You get the latest kit each year and it is top quality and new, you don’t have to worry about transporting them to and from your home location or taking up lots of space at your home and you can just give it all back at the end.
Having the boards with you for a longer period during your holiday, gives you more flexibility around when you go, maybe a sunrise/sunset paddle or when the weather or tides are just right. You can also go to many locations and explore many estuaries, creeks and the coastline without being tied to one place or a fixed time of day.
In addition to this SUP Away has a vast amount of experience in the outdoor industry meaning that we are very much aware of the bigger picture and what can make your overall experience more enjoyable, educational, fun and above all safe.
Through the website and contact support with our specialised team we aim to provide you with as much information as possible from giving you some paddling skills tips, recommended trips to do, things to see and safety guidelines.
How It Works:
SUP Away will provide you with the kit you need to get you on the water whilst you are on holiday, whether you are one person or a group of ten plus. To make your booking, contact us through the website or by phone to reserve your boards, we will contact you to take more information and to take a deposit/full payment via credit or debit card.
You can then either collect your boards from our office (half a mile from Bantham Beach), or we will can deliver** your boards and buoyancy aids to you at your accommodation or meet you where you would like to get on the water on your first days hire (please see our delivery locations page). When you have finished with all the equipment, we will pick it up and take it away.
Either way will spend some time with you talking through the features of the boards and familiarising you with the kit. How to pump up, leashes, correct fitting of buoyancy aids, transportation, basic paddling technique, safety etc - or this information can be found on our website too.
Whilst you have the boards you can either deflate them at the end of the day and store them in your car or at your holiday accommodation. Sometimes it might be easier to leave them inflated and on top of your vehicle, we can provide some car roof straps, if you would like to secure them on your roof rack. The paddles are telescopic and will store easily within a car boot.

Group Bookings:
We would be happy to quote for group bookings such as a children’s birthday party adventure, hen/ stag do’s or a business teambuilding activity for example. We can deliver all your boards and equipment having it all ready to go at your chosen location.
Instructed or Guided Sessions
If you would like to be shown the local area on a paddle board we can guide you on a trip. We have excellent local knowledge making your trip more interesting and informative as well as maximising the weather and tides etc to make your trip the best it can be. All our staff are fully qualified. In addition, if you are new to paddle boarding and would like some help in developing your skills from flat water to small surf we are able to help. Please contact us for our rates, which start from as little as £45 per person for a 1.5 hour guided trip.
